What You Didn't Know You Needed: Our Guide To Enjoy The Slow Moments
And, we're enjoying every minute we can.
COVID-19 is a two-sided coin - There are families facing tragedy, small business closing up shop, and continual uncertainty. We also recognize that it has also given us time back. Time of togetherness to enjoy the slow moments with family, pets, plants, or your craft.
While we can't cure COVID-19, what we can do is stay home. Which is why we are popping in to your inbox! Keep reading as we share ways we are spending our extra time.
WHAT WE ARE CRAFTING
Each of us on the Modern Macramé team is working on something different! Everything from the refining new pattern designs, to making macramé for the first time.
If you're new to Macramé we recommend our Beginner 101 Pattern. Or, if you're a more seasoned knotter check out our March Knot Along Pattern! #MMKnotAlong9
We've also joined forces with 16 other makers for a Craft Kit Giveaway Extravaganza! Keep reading for how to enter.
WHO WE ARE SUPPORTING
Like so many small, independent, women, POC, indigenous and queer-owned businesses out there that are suffering in the loss of retail sales, we have to reach out and support the ones we love, however we can.
- Check out Ali Golden's classic and playful clothing: take an extra 20% off sale items! (With code TOGETHER)
- Our friend + partner for our Oaxaca Retreat, Thread Caravan is offering a 10% discount on all trips in July 2020 or later. (With code HERE4U)
- Crosby Elements our studio neighbor is offering free shipping until the end of March and donating 10% to Meals on Wheels.
PS. THIS LIST COULD GO ON FOREVER!

If you're like us, you might be working from home these days. And, perhaps, finding yourself with a new morning routine. There's a couple things we've added in to ours.
Check out our friend Sonja Rasula of Unique Markets going LIVE on Instagram: M-F at 11am PST.
Trying to spend this extra time getting your life together and enjoy podcasts? We recommend:

- Life Kit by NPR
We also might be biased but we are still vibing our Making Music Playlist if you're looking for background tunes that go with any activity.
HOW WE ARE FINDING BALANCE
We've noticed that sometimes doing nothing is just what we needed to replenish our creativity.
Doing absolutely nothing can be challenging. So, whether you have added a daily yoga practice, are diving into plant care, or are taking walks around the neighborhood. You're creating space for your mind and body to restore.
Some practices we've been adding to our daily wellness routine are:
- Pulling a daily tarot card for insight and direction. Check out Biddy Tarot if you're just starting out.
- Slow Flow Yoga with Allison Riegel over ZOOM. Join her class this morning!
