Best Macramé Patterns for Your Baby's Nursery
Congratulations, Emily and Adam!
If you caught the big announcement this week you know that our founder, Emily and her partner Adam, are expecting their very first baby! This wonderful news has all of us at Modern Macramé, quite frankly, BABY CRAZY. We can’t help but see every color, fiber and pattern in the studio as something that will be just perfect for baby. Because it’s Modern Macramé we are mostly eschewing baby blues and pastel pinks in favor of earth tones and neutrals, bold shapes rather than ornate knots and subtlety over flash. The nursery of our imagination is going to be quite chic!

The Three of Hearts Wall Hanging
This lovely little wall hanging is very near to our hearts! We made this nursery adornment in Lavender, Wheat and Natural but you can pick any three colors of our 5mm rope to suit your child’s room and knot this beginner level pattern in no time.

Checkerboard Rug
Made from our plush, squishy 4mm string this rug will be just right for baby's tummy time. They say that babies love bold prints and high contrast patterns and this textile achieves just that while also being soft and baby sized. Knot this floor mat in the gentle hues we chose or go for an even higher contrast with Black and Bright White.

Lunar Intentions
Adorn your nursery with the Lunar Intentions wall hanging for your sweet, moon baby to gaze at from the safety of their bassinet. With eye-catching brass beads, a high contrast colorway and lots of fringe, this artwork is sure to lull baby to the land of nod.

Knitted Washcloth
We included this multipurpose, knitted cloth because, as every parent knows, babies are equal parts love and mess. With one ball of our 2mm string you can knit as many as ten of these soft and highly useful wash cloths! Great to have on hand while nursing, at the high chair or in the bathtub.

Pom Pom Garland
For that extra touch of fluff and whimsy, make a pom pom! Paint a few stars on the ceiling and this cloudlike garland can festoon the high corners of the nursery creating a celestial space for dreamy babies.
