Los Angeles Book Launch Celebration with Knit Wit Mag
I never thought I would have my face on the cover of a magazine.
Ok, I might have dreamt it, but the REALITY of it never really crossed my mind.
When the Modern Macramé book was scheduled to launch, Zinzi, the editor of famed craft mag Knit Wit approached me for a feature. We met at Civil Coffee in Highland Park, LA, and chatted like we were old friends. She introduced me to Lisa Butterworth who interviewed me for the issue, and my friend Laura Dart took the photos in my studio... I love how knowing someone from the internet and being a mega fan of their work can facilitate an effortless meeting over coffee and matcha.
She wanted to include a feature on my work and the book in her issue, and we set to planning an over the top and special launch party to celebrate not only the launch of this crazy baby of a book, but also her beautifully inspiring final print issue of Knit Wit Magazine.
We gathered together a wonderful group of inspiring women, all small business owners and creatives to help make the dream a reality. Thanks to everyone who came, I am so grateful for all of you!
Justina Blankeney featured me in her book "The New Bohemians", and it sparked my drive to create a book of my own. A total inspiration this woman....She is also wearing Ace and Jig, an amazing clothing brand I recently made a special tent for!
