FROM OUR BOOK: Gathering Together Table Runner

Our Book features 33 projects for your handmade home. In this blog series, we are featuring projects from the Modern Macramé book - you will learn a bit about the behind the scenes, as well as the best materials to use in your macramé projects.

This month's Knot Along Pattern - The Winter Garland - coordinates beautifully with the GATHERING TOGETHER TABLE RUNNER pattern from OUR BOOK (page 199). Make them both in our metallic blend rope (50% OFF through November 28th) to add some extra glitz to your holiday decor!

The Winter Garland Knot Along + Gathering Together Table Runner Modern Macrame Book and Blog

There is nothing better than gathering around a table with friends and delicious food + drink to share. This table runner was originally designed for a wedding photo shoot featuring macramé and florals at Union Pine, an event space in Portland. That table was aglow with crystals and candles. It also covered the table at the first ever Modern Macramé team holiday party, bringing a little bit of macramé magic to our celebration. Style this piece for a party or for every day. It looks great stretched out across a dining table but just as nice as a runner on a counter or coffee table.

To make the Gathering Together Table Runner, you will need 754' of our 5mm rope (in any color of your choice). One spool will be plenty, but we also have bundles if you want to make it in multiple colors!

This pattern is made using a variety of knots including the Reverse Lark's Head Knot, Square Knot, Alternating Square Knots, and Overhand Knot. You can learn how to make these (along with more techniques and tutorials) on our YouTube Channel!
